So Project Dorothy is underway but I'm having difficulty obtaining an SS swing arm. I wonder if it's a sign? Maybe I shouldn't add the extra 2inches? my concern is the bike loves to come up at WOT as is so I was worried with the turbo it'll have me back flipping. But as I think on it maybe 2inches won't be significant? or maybe she won't fly up as bad as I anticipate. i have pretty good throttle control, I'll learn the bike quickly and know how it spools and hits ect. I also am a twistie guy. I know Xtreme, you have no problems with the fatty tire and the SS swing, was there no major difference? if i'm going to continue to ride twisties with the bike for 80% of my saddle time should i maintain the swing arm it's got?
What do you guys think?

I doubt you'll notice a very big difference in handling. The SS handles great just like the S and the SCG do. I think its primarily for aesthetics, it does look sweet with the S tail. It may help keep the front tire down a little bit though.

The 2" will help some, but it wont make a diff with the turbo! My Ss handled the same as my older S, it just took a tad bit more throttle to lift the front end. You may want that 2" if you get into that turbo in the twisties. Id hate to have the front wheel get lite on me while i was laying it on its side. JMO :)

These bikes the swing arms can be changed out pretty easy. Save the orignal so if you don't like it .Make sure to check on belt availablity for the project.

i htink it matters HOW MUCH you like hte twisties or HOW HARD you HIT the twisties... i reckon going to fat tyre affects the bikes geometry a lot. seen it so many times on various bikes. the extra length may only make a very slight difference, but for sure the S chassis turns sharp. the extra swingarm length will give you a bit more stratch to resist pull up, but for sure the bike can still lift even on an Ss and i would suspect easy with a turbo. try looking at getting some more weight forward... ie bar location.

Twoguns- yea the first thing i did was a set of crossroads when i first got her. Now i'm doing the CR clubmans to get even more forward as well as finally installing my tail lift. No fat tires, 180 all day, thought about 190 but my buddy put a 190 on his zx10 and said he hated it in the twists, it was too flat with too sudden a drop off.

Jimi- chain conversion [up] won't need to worry about the belts anymore

is there a difference between the S tail and the SCG tail? I would love to get one of the mono seats from trojan but i don't have the dough for something like that lol

OH yeah can't wait to see her,Really glad to hear you are going the chain route. Forgot for a minute that you are doing the Turbo. My race bike has the chain conversion.Thinking about doing it to my street 08 XB12R as well. Dang my wallet still hurts. The Fat tires are ok for straight/ But you will lose some grip cause the tread path shrinks.Seems to handle slower or something. Love the Twisties way too much to give up Tread & grip.Post a picture when you can.AS far as the S tail & SCG tail I'm not really sure. But someone here is bound to! I'd get some part numbers on the tail swaps. I know about the XB9s AND the Firebolts pretty good. :D[up]

The Ss swing arm will make a difference but if you are really concerned with the bike coming up, just run a set of Scg forks and setup the rear to ride the shorter height that the Scg does in the back.

When I added my setup I noticed a huge difference primarily in second gear at how little the wheel pulled off the ground[up]
