So I live in Alaska, brought my xb9 to Seattle, am currently in Corvallis, Oregon and I lost my only key!! I have a spare in Alaska, but is there any way I can solve this problem without having to get someone to send my spare in the mail??
I know I'm an idiot for only bringing one key!!

If that is the original ignition on your bike, any Harley shop can look it up and order you a key. You have to show them your registration and your picture ID that I know you probably have, but it does take like 5 business days to get. And you have to buy a set (2 keys) and I think it cost me like $27.95 when I got myself an extra set a few months ago. Hope this helps.

When I bought my bike new from the Harley dealership they gave me the wrong spare. I took it back to them and they mailed me my new set. The new set was wrong, so I called them this time since they are 80 miles away. This time they were finally correct, but they wanted me to mail the others back. I wasn't about to spend my money to fix their mistake, so now I have an extra set of keys to another bike. Awesome dealership, huh?

Thanks, the only problem is that the registration is under my seat haha. I do have an insurance card with my name and the vin number on it. Maybe that will be enough. I'm waiting for the shop to open up. Thanks

They can look up the info to make sure you are on the reg. They can go onto the DMV website since they are a dealer and with your SSN look up your reg. Just tell them what is going on and they should be able to help. Afterall they are bikers too, and you know they want your business...

Well it looks like it will take longer for a dealer to get me a copy than it will to have someone send my spare in the mail from Alaska...guess I'll just have to wait patiently=(((.
Thanks for the input guys!

just have your key nextday to you and order a new key later. thats what i did when i lost my harley key in vegas. now if you really want to get going and the forks are not locked. you can pull the two screws that hold the ignition housing flip it over take out the two screws that hold the lock to the wiring lop pull the two apart then use a flat head screw drive to start your bike.

Hope you are back riding soon bro... Now it's "What can Brown do for you?".... Don't send it USPS, you may never get it. Seems like our Postal Serv. has gone to **** latley. They lost my stuff all the time. I pay all my bills on the computer now.
