So today I go on a 7 hour road trip for work. To get some parts, so I take company car. Go to leave work at 300 am BOOM no bike key. I tear my tool box apart and our laundry locker apart still no key. 2 hours later still no key. So my boss steals 4 special catapilar engine clips and rigs me 2 jumpers so not to damage my ignition plug. I go home and try to track down the gas stations I stopped to pee at and start calling. By the grace of God last one I call has it,some truck driver found it on the ground. Not a big deal if I had another key, which I don't. So now I get to drive 2 1/2 hours to get it so I can install my cooling fan that came in yesterday.

some folks love a spare key in wallet for everything they use but thru the years i've found that on my bikes, a sandwich bag with spare key wrapped inside and taped to an accessible but fairly hidden section of any bike is a must. has saved my ass from hitch-hiking a ton of times.

First thing I did after buying my Buell was go to a HD dealer and get two extra spare keys.

Lol I bought an extra pair of Buell key blanks off of Ebay and got a local key shop to cut em in about 5 mins ... for about $5 ... Hahaha ...

I did the same thing. Aren't some Buell keys the same blank as Ducati? Anyway, I got a couple off ebay and cut them myself. (I do lock work.)
