Went to fire up the bike this morning, after I filled it u with some good fresh gas and no start. The bike back-fire's every few cranks with a little smoke? Did I fowl my plugs or what? Thanks for anything buellers![confused]

I think plugs 2. The day I bought my bike that happened. Did new plugs and bike has been running mint ever since

no mods nothing just start up and shut down and one small 5 mile trip to which the belt blew [mad] i assume fouled plugs. thanks guys.

Starting your bike up when it's cold. Giving it a few good revvs just to hear what it sounds like then shutting down can aid in fouling plugs. When I start it I always let it run for a good couple mins before I shut it down. Just a suggestion.

I second DustyXB. First got my bike in 20 degree February. Loved the sound, but couldn't ride. Started it just to hear it one too many times and fouled the plugs. It was running on one cylinder and spitting oil out the exhaust. Seemed pretty serious.... But I just needed plugs. Some of us need to learn the hard way.

My bike backfired when I started her up last spring, after sitting for a good two months (heated garage, don't worry!)

After it backfired, I let it sit for a couple hours and tried again, and it started up after a couple of hiccups.

Been there, done that, when starting a Buell let it fire up and run before snapping the throttle open,my Buell is the first bike I have had this happen to since 1971 and that was a Yamaha 200 two stroke.
