The past few weeks my XB9 has been hesitating whenever I throttle it, hooked up ECMspy today to find my AFV was set at 83.3!, I'm running a K&N, standard exhaust with drilled baffles and breather re-route with stock 05 maps.

I reset the AFV to 100 and set a minimum of 90, the bikes running a hell of alot better now, but I just got home after a 45min ride to find out its set it's AFV to the minimum(90).

Why would my bike think it's running rich?, if anything with the minor mods i've done it should think its running lean!

Is it common for these O2 sensors to go kaput, im thinking of just disabling the O2, locking the AFV and mapping it myself, I've tuned my fair share of carbs with good results it's about time I moved onto fuel injection.

bro i have the same issue. but i megalogged mine and tunned out everything. and now mine runs very happy at 90 afv.

before i megalogged mine would drop to the 60s!

moral of the story go read the writeup and get to logging! its super easy and addictive

If you disable the 02 how will you know if your running lean? Just by feel/sound?

Leave the 02 on but set your high/low to 100. Turn off all learning. Do some datalogging and adjust your fuel map accordingly. Rinse and repeat. Look for areas where the bike is running lean/rich.

When your done turn all your learning back on, set your high/low limits back to stock. I would highly suggest always leaving on the 02 sensor as it will compensate for weather/altitude variables.

Thanks Dallas, makes more sence than the way I was thinking, I'll get right to it once I've finished reading the ECMspy tuning guide.
