Go morning. New to the forum, but have been reading off the site for a little while.

I have a 99 M2, and replaced the rear shock because the old one bounced like crazy, and wheel-hopped all over the place under hard acceleration. New one feels so much better. Got the new one with the replacement front bracket since the new one is the shorter version.

Problem is, that the new shock lowered the bike a ton. Looks cool, and is comfortable, but I think its a little too low. I'm worried about affecting front geometry at this point. Also, the belt is now super tight, and the rear axle shaft is bottomed out all the way to the front.

I'm going to put a new belt and swingarm isolators in the next week or two anyway, so thats not the issue. I just want to see if I should be concerned with the really low rear end, and if I should be trying to raise it up even just a little. I've read other people trying to lower them, but I need to go the other way. Also, I'm 6'9" so it wouldn't hurt to bring it back up a bit. Believe it or not, this tiny bike is one of the bikes I fit best on; weird, I know.

I also want to get the ride height issue sorted out before I take the measurement to see what size belt I need. It has an aftermarket pulley on it too, which I could switch back to stock if I had to, but I've gotten used to the snappy acceleration of the aftermarket one.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for raising the back end up before I buy a belt and tear it apart?

Its possible, but I really hope not. I bought it from a GREAT ebay company, American Torque. They were always great to me, responded right away, and were very helpful. It looks, though I hope I'm wrong, like they're out of the ebay business now. I'll see what I can find out, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of how to check if its a 'low' shock. It is correct that there is not ride height adjustment, right? Just preload, damper and rebound?
Thank you!

I got lucky back when i had my M2 and the rear went to crap and found one still sitting in a harley parts back room in some far off dealership(thanks to my local dealer who's parts guy was a buell rider), but that was 2007....

So if I ended up with the 'low', my only option is to sell it (as it has very low miles on it) and get another one. I'm guessing the front shock mount is the same for the two shocks? I still have the other shock as well if that is what ends up being needed.
