Hi guys I just became a proud owner of a 2000 Buell Lightning X1 this week. I bought this bike for cheap from one of my brothers at the club, the only problem is that it wont start for more then 5 seconds. The maintenance that i wanted to do on it was spark plugs, new fuel filter, new air filter, and most likely clean the fuel injectors. So my question is what are the best plugs, fuel filter and air filter that i could use? Also what is the best way to clean the fuel injectors?

Thanks guys
Hubert

What club?

I would do what you mentioned, as well as change the oil and run some seafoam through the fuel to clean up the injectors. People also recommend running seafom through the oil, but ive never done so personally.

Seafoam in the gas, about an ounce per gallon. Put it in on half a tank then top it off after you add. Will clean the injectors up in no time.

I put about an ounce or so in my oil, then run it for about a tank of fuel and change the oil. Made. Major difference in acceleration and smoothness at low rpms.

You can also use a spray bottle and spray some in through the velocity stack, just be mindful not to go overboard and end up vapor lockng the engne. Been meaning to do this but havn't gotten around to it.

Thanks guys.
Any ideas on where to order a new intake filter? cause iv been looking on every website and all i can find is kits for $300 to $400 which ill spend if i have to but i just need a new filter.
