Looking for some opinions from the Buell community:

I'm going to propose to my GF. Was thinking about doing it at dinner on Valentines Day, but wondering if that's too cliche or cheesy. She mentioned once that she'd like it if I did it in front of her friends. I'm not the kind of guy to showboat, I'm kinda private, and I feel like something this personal should just be between the two of us. That being said, I try not to be selfish, and this isn't just about me. If that's what she really wants, maybe I should do it that way? Would probably not be until Saturday the 17th if I wait to ask her in front of her friends (would be at a watering hole we go to).

Thoughts/opinions?

Started dating my now wife of 13yrs on Valentine's day. But do what makes you comfortable, once your married she had the rest of her life to always be right and get what she wants. So make it special, but include yourself in this one!

As a hopeless romantic, I would say to please her romantic wishes. She will forever remember that you remembered. That is important for women.

To me though, the private and personal approach is better, but again, it's not about what you want.

Do what you think is right. I proposed to my ex at a car audio world finals event. She thought I was joking. It did last 10 years. But the army got in the way.

If you get her a big enough Diamond Ring she won't care when or where you propose.

Did you ever ponder this...

A woman who gets engaged will run up to another woman, show her the ring, and tell her she just got engaged. They will both jump up and down, laugh, cry, and be so happy together. Even though they don't know each other. :sorrow:

The reason is that they know they are going to make another man miserable.:applause:

Just say'in...

this nonsense should be on facebook....not on here. :mad-new:

Finally someone with common sense! Agree with you John. When I first became a member this place was great it was all about the bikes and how to fix. This place now is like a Dear Abby forum with stuff that has nothing to do with the bikes. What the heck is going on?

I thought it was refreshing as lately it feels like the twilight zone and the same stuff gets posted over and over. I just wanted to see something new. I guess to keep both sides of the forum happy he should ask her to marry him while replacing his voltage regulator so that this post becomes motorcycle related..... And sometimes the comments here are just as predictable as the comments on Yahoo stories, it's Obama fault, it's Trump's fault, or the best is when someone comments and says nobody cares about this yet they took the time to read it and comment....... Either way I still love this forum and everyone in our Dysfunctional Family...

And john is right. This is a motorcycle forum, you will not get sound advice from us on this subject. The only actual advice I can give you is that if you feel the NEED to ask a bunch of buell (motorcycle) enthusiasts how and when you should propose you've got more problems than that. Lol good luck
