I've owned several 600cc and a 1000cc I4 Japanese sportbikes over the past 8 years or so, along with several dirt bikes and a harley.

I've always loved the harley sound and heritage, so I got an '07 sportster (always like those peanut tanks too from the 60's and 70's chops) but just couldn't keep the thing. I still love corners!

There's an '07 Ninja sitting in my garage, but it just didn't fit the bill. Was turning it into a track bike, but made it un-streetable in the process. Then I was thinking, you only hit the track a few times a year. I want to ride more than that! My first bike was a 600cc SS bike, and I put about 18,000 miles on it in a year. I rode it everywhere.

Well, yesterday I drove 325 miles to pick up my first buell. Why didn't I do this sooner? Harley sound, V-twin torque, short wheel base, and bad as hell!

Here it is before coming home:

Rode it to work today and fell in love. This is a bike I can log some MILES on!

Of course, last night after a quick ride with the neighbor, found out my rear brake light wasn't working w/ the front lever... thanks to the forum found out it was likely the switch at the bars, and am ordering one now.

Welcome! The same thing happened to me when I bought my Buell with the front brake. Easy fix.

Welcome to the Buell "Family" and the Forum Chris. :D[up] Nice intro and as you said so well:
Harley sound, V-twin torque, short wheel base, and bad as hell!
- That's the addiction in a nutshell. ;)

Welcome to the lovely world of Buells. They're quirky little machines, but i still love em!

Chris, I'm kind of like you, had many bikes over the years. Started with BSA's in 1959, should have kept them. On to a Honda Hawk, Yamaha RD, Dirt Bikes, back to street, Honda Ascot, Kaw 750 GPX, Harley 1200S Sport, Took a few years off, but bikes have always been in my blood. Well this 06 XB9SX came along wrecked , but ride-able, fixed it up, and loving it. Most fun bike I have ever owned. Now doing mods to it that I have got from the Forum (Drummer, airbox, K&N, ecm, etc.) Check out ASB (American Sport Bike) for changes. Cheers, Brian.

It is a quirky little animal for sure. Already got thru ASB to grab the brake switch an some grips. The left side grip is loose, so I think I'm gonna put some pro taper bars and new stuff on there (I guess any excuse is good enough eh?).

The muffler is stock, but it still sounds nice. I now can not wait to get a more open pipe on it though!
