Michelin Pilot Power 2CT or Bridgestone Battlax BT023 - 180/55ZR17 & 120/70ZR17

IN MY POINT OF VIEW the best tires for the BUELL bikes. Those are safety, comfortable, and good-looking tires. You can share in track and street.
You don’t compromise the handle and performance from your BUELL:

Michelin – Costly, sticky, and less durable
Bridgestone – Cheap, less sticky, and durable

What do you think?

I was taught by a very wise mechanic when I was young to first spend money on the important stuff. In his words "all the HP and torque in the world won't do you any good without maneuverability and stopping abilities. In turn I did a lot of research on tire companies and came up with this:

Michelin is one of the very few manufacturers that doesn't have a balance dot on their tires. This is done by having one more step (more costly) into the tire making process. This step creates a virtually perfect balanced tire versus the other brands just finding the lightest side of the tire for the balance dot (where the valve stem counteracts the lack of weight weight).
So tires with a balance dot in just the right spot on the rim may not need a balance weight which is ideal with this type of tire. But if it does need a balance weight, you essentially end up with at least three areas of the tire (which are heavier than the rest of the tire) that are all balancing each other rather than just two. Those two should be the valve stem and balance wieght.

Less durable? I have to disagree. I ran that Bridgestone tire and got about 2800 miles out of it and it was trashed.

I switched to that Michelin with about 1000 miles on it and it is holding up much better than the Bridgestone at the same point.

Important note: I did switch up to a 190 though.
 
Been running Michelin tires for around 40,000 miles.

Mainly because it's the tire I feel the most comfortable on. In my opinion personal comfort level is more important then specs.

Just switched to a set of Pirelli tires because I got them for free. In most any tire review the comments for Michelin and Pirelli have been almost identical. For the price decided to try them, have yet to notice any difference between the two brands.
 
I ran the BTO16's and loved them. Sticky as hell when warmed up and they NEVER gave me a balance issue while using Dyna Beads. I got 4k miles outa mine and that was with very spirited riding. I will look into the 20's when I need a new tire.
 
Used all of them, Q2's I liked a lot as well as Michy's about the same as far as I can say. I am using Conti Attacks now on my ZX10 and I find them damn good and very cost effective. Only a few hundred miles on them but I'm digging them.
 
2ct on my bike since stock. Never been down and had some hairy situations where I needed the extra grip when I came into a corner a little hotter than I would have liked. It was a learning experience, now I can go over that far on a whim. tiiiiny chicken strips.
 
I just installed my Michelin 2CTs today.
It looks wider than the BT023, again:

Michelin - Costly, sticky, and less durable. + looks wider !

Agree with Luc R on the Q2's. I chose between the Q2 and PP2CT. Both are dual compound on the rear but the softer compound on the PP2CT is a lot less.
 
I've worked for Bridgestone for 6 years..... I run the BT-016.. The Mich. Power 2 power 3 pure 2 ect. Are far superior. (unfortunately)
