Looking to get rid of the "rabbit ear" factory mirrors. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really like the Rizoma Senso but the $$$ is high. The Bar end Oberon bar end looks good but how functional is it? What size is the best fit for the bar end's?

Bar end Oberon's are very nice. I had a similiar type without the built in turn signals and it took some getting used to. I can definitely say, with the rabbit ears, you don't have to "TRY" to look in the rearview, it's just there. Now with the bar end mirrors, you have to actually try to look for an opening behind you or object in the rear in my opinion.

I use the bar-end CRG's with the folding elbows (the lane-splitting models). No vibration, clear view behind me, easy to fold in when parking/splitting lanes. They're a real winner all the way around.

I found these ones on ebay $20..[up]

I have the Oberon's...they are the cleanest I have seen. I wanted to go with the CRG's but just didn't like the appearance. Oberon has 2 different types of glass, too…a 60mm flat glass and a 75mm convex glass. I have both (got the flat glass before they offered the convex) and the convex is by far the way to go. Both are super solid and offer great field of view…but they do take a good bit of tweaking to get them aimed just right, especially the flat glass. Oh, and my 09 xb12ss with oem bars took 19mm fittings, and the fit is perfect.

I purchased the Oberon 60mm and I really like them. The first thing I noticed is that I get absolutely no vibration like I did the lollypops. They are small but I can still see well.

Really, the only draw-back is you must be patient when adjusting...much trial & error. ;)

I thought somebody glued a quarter on the end of Juice's bars those dam things are so small! :p

I found a pair of bar end mirrors on e bay for about $25 and they're just fine! Had to reduce the mounting lug diameter when I fitted my flat Renthals last year (to go in to the bar end - smaller dia due to increased wall thickness of the new bars) but no big deal...

I want higher mirrors than bar ends, so I'm saving up for (probably) Rizomas. I have already installed BMW bar end weights, and am going to install a bar snake, so I'm hoping that'll quell some of the vibes and let the standard mount mirrors be more useful.

"...I'm hoping that'll quell some of the vibes...."

Good luck with that - it's a big 'ol V-twin....

I have Oberon's and love them. Only use them at stop lights and stop signs.

Don't the bar ends affect your lanesplitting?
I've always liked the look&even ran them on other bikes.

Bar ends work OK IMHO...and as for vibes, I don't really see a problem (scuse the pun!). Seriously, no big vibes (through the bars) on my XB9...
I ride mainly country roads (Canada) so don't do much City stuff.

Personally I would go with regular mount mirrors, bar ends look cool and work pretty good, but you sacrafice alot of lane splitting space.

That's the main thing holding me up on the bar ends-
But I do like the look-

Theoctopus: I'd love to see some picks of your crg" lanesplitters"

I have had both the smaller regular mirrors and the bar end mirrors... The small regular mirrors that I had always moved on me because of the vibration that the bike... The Bar end mirrors is not bad I didnt like them.

I decided to end up with no mirrors at all. I decided that I can see fine with out mirrors... why clutter the bike up when you can just turn your head and look to see if you are getting chased by the cops or not... ha ha plus you have to look anyways to move over so why not just have no mirrors... cleaner look like I said before.
