So been looking at new and upcoming bikes, and I think these are the two strongest contenders for my next two wheeled love affair. Dont flame me too bad cuzz neither is a Buell =( Maybe by the time im ready to buy, Buell will have remade the 1125 into something more attractive.

MV Agusta

KTM RC8

SEX MACHINE!@!@!

Edit: Oh, Iv heard that alot of Euro stunters roll Agusta. Can anyone confirm this as true?

MV is great if you can afford $30k for a sport bike. They are overpriced just like Ducati's are.

The KTM is pretty nice and is within people's price range.

Well, MV Agusta is now owned by HD. I really don't like that much. Both bikes are nice. Have not tried anyone of them, but i bet the MV Agusta beat the RC 8. They've been refining their concept for awhile and KTM are newbees in this specific area.

I agree the MV's are way overpriced that model im estimating in the 35k+ price range. And thats out of my price bracket even for a bike atm. And I guess those RC8's are "extremly limited production" so they are gunna be pretty spendy not to mention possibly hard to get ahold of. What are the major cons to moving to a 4banger tho? Im not all that mechanically inclined and could use some schooling[smirk]

There is no con to moving to an inline 4. They are awesome bikes. My Gixxer was insane and way too fast for me that is why I got rid of it. Plus it was just too big of a bike for me I was very uncomfortable on it. The newer ones are much more comfortable than the 01 was. I wouldn't mind getting an new Gixxer 1000. That would be nice to have in the stable to go along with my Firebolt and Shadow.

there are con's...

generally, a 4banger has less torque...especially down low. so you need to rev it more and ride above 8000rpm to have that pull sensation.

other con's, for me that is:
- sound
- lack of character
- they are everywhere
- ride it for 6 months and you have an old bike
- riders mentality (hp contest, bright colour, etc)

I agree with burnteyes, I was seriously interested in the Daytona 675. Then I sat on it... It was too big for me AND insurance was seriously more than twice as much as my buell. I do really want a cafe racer, not the 1125CR, a real one

insurance on the daytona is about 25 bucks cheaper for me. 116 for my xb and i think i was quoted 88 per month for the daytona.

I haven looked at the mv much at all. The ktm though is a nice looking bike. The triumph daytona 675 special edition is the one I have my eye on right now. Sweet sweet looking bike.

If the hayabusa had better mileage to them I would get one of those for sure. No I don't care how fast they go. Its more of I do a whole lot of highway driving and the buell tends to get a little uncomfortable after couple of hours. I'm 6'1" and my legs get uncomfortable, then my wrist usually go since i'm leaning over my on them since I got the touring seat. However my butt is more comfortable now! Either way my buell gets roughly 55+ on average and I don't think the busa gets anywhere near that. That and when i'm in town, nothing beats the buell for fun...:D
