I just got this bike last summer and then the engine blew a few months later. I have it in the shop right now...they say it needs over $3,000 in parts, which is way more than I can spend.
I've been looking online for parts or used engines and am not having much luck.
Does anyone have some recommendations for me?
Also, do you know if 2009 1125R engine is compatible with my 2008?
What does 40B and 37B mean after the engine make and model?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Is there a website where I can double check compatibility on Buell engines?
As far as you know, is the 09 engine exactly the same?

Thanks for your help so far. There are a couple of good options on pinwall.

Engines are the same, some electronics changed (stator/rotor), updated injectors, etc. Drop in replacement, keep the 08 motor, put the stator from the 08 on the new one, save the rest as a backup or have it re-wound for a spare. Make sure to mark the 09 stator case so that you KNOW they changed it out. Small dimple, scratch mark, sharpie marker. Anything to mark it but not be super obvious.

have the shop give you a list of parts and also what exactly is FUBAR before you spend any cash...the shop is just looking to make money off you buying these parts from them. do some research if and when they supply you with a parts list. if they tell you what's wrong with it, that info will determine what parts you really need to fix the engine, it could be something simple and you're being told BS so they can take you to the cleaners. just be informed, before you pull the trigger on buying parts/engine.
