Hey All,

I'm having a major issue with the bike not starting and I think the previous owner screwed with the ECM. I've been trying to get this thing going for the past few months and think that this could be my issue. The bike will turn over fine, I have fuel and spark... it just won't start correctly (only backfires). Can someone send me the stock EEPROM for my bike? ...Does anyone have a 2008 XB12R with the EEPROM BUEZD0P0-12-17-08?

If you need my stock maps for reference, please let me know.

PM me for my email.

Thanks in advance guys.

Ok, Here is my ECMSpy screen shots. Just by looking at the front to rear maps... something seems off. Can anyone confirm?

I know that ECMSpy V1.12 is not completely compatible with the DDFI3 ECM's, however, It is able to fetch the EEPROM correctly. Is the map read correctly also?
Thanks

There is something grossly incorrect with your EEPROM. The front and rear maps should not appear so dissimilarly. In general, DDFI 3 ECMs, when read using the older ECMSpy, should produce an image similar to the front timing table and fuel table you have in the above screenshots. Very rarely, there will be a 2008 era ECM that has not been updated that will produce maps like your rear timing and fuel tables (though your TPS and RPM values are incorrect). This suggests that someone tried to flash just the rear or front maps to the bike using ECMSpy when they should not have.

That's what I thought... being only a mechanical engineer and not someone with a computer/electrical background, I even could tell that something was effed up for sure.

So does anyone have a good file for this bike? I am using TunerPRO RT right now and can flash it myself. The dealer will charge me between $200 and $600 to redo it...

I'll also post my screenshots from TunerPRO tonight.

Thanks guys

The dealer is outta their mind. Probably have no idea what you are even asking to be done.

IE: needed my transmission assembly pressed out of the case half. Already fully disassembled just a press out and back in. The service writer, quoted me 18.0 hours. I explained that they obviously are not understanding, attempted to tell them again. I was finally told i should just bring the whole motorcycle in and let their tech inspect it.
In the automotive for a reflash or an update thats just an upload its about an hours charge $95

I called around to the dealerships... one said it would take an hour to reflash, the other said 30 minutes... WTF? I think they pull these numbers out of there a$$.

I think I'm leaning on taking it to the cheaper dealership, but they said a flash would be $50 out the door. They also mentioned that the bike's ECM will be locked after that... Isn't the ECM all ready locked from the factory to begin with? If so, then how is the TunerPRO RT software able to change parameters and re-flash without a key?

Anyone have some insight on this?

I can sent you a modified BUEZD bin file that a member here shared with me that he did some data log tuning for a KEDA. PM me your email if you want it.

I'll PM him too to see if I can get the stock bin file for you.

Thanks for your help guys, its going to the dealership today...

Another thing i thought of was that maybe the guy i bought this bike fro didn't configure the wide band O2 sensor properly? Could that throw the bike off that much to where it won't start?

Innovative... There is a large connection to the O2 and then from the gauge, it has a brown wire (analog output) going to the ECM.
