I bought a buell at a salvage yard in oklahoma about a month ago and have been slowly rebuilding it to working condition i have everything finished except i am having a problem with it backfiring when i initially pull the throttle once it gets past about 2 k rpm it runs normally. Anybody got any ideas what it could be before i start troubleshooting it? BTW anybody on here reck a yellow Xb12r in OK cause mostly likely i have it now.

I just put in new plugs and got new wire and ignition coil two days ago plugs were from harley so they should be good ignition coil was from ebay but i check the resistance on coil and wires and they are to spec any other possiblilities??

i Took it for a ride today and initially it sounds like its gonna stall out but the when you get past that first 1k rpms there is a jolt of torque any ideas?

also got new injectors because i found out the old ones were bad and were pouring out to much fuell

nope haven't tried either but i did mess with the idle control and it seem to have gotten better but sill not running the way it should would a tps reset? fix that you thing?

Depending on how bad it's actually off, it can make the difference between running or not. It's important enough the manuals call for it at regular intervals.

if you figure out what is wrong post it because im haveing the same problems plus my bike wants to idle on one cylinder then both for a second then back to one
