ok heres the situation. used to have a cable and lost. bought new one from xopti. do i have to reinstall drivers? ive tried to get it to work by using the ones i had saved on my computer but didnt work. couldnt get link from buell tuning guide to work for me either. I know i prolly just being stupid but maybe yall can tell me what i doin wrong. my brain isnt working

had new hardware window. did recommended install. didnt find anything. did the next step too to the point where u choose the advance and select the folder u want to browse and pull file from. didnt work. guys who are good at this i really need help. not even riding bike right now becasue issues. check engine light comes on and bike has loud clicking noise. think bad misfiring... but idk

so ive got two files that i think are the drivers. one is zipped and one is not. CDM20602 is what it labeled as. delete both of these?

You want to actually uninstall them from your system. The prolific download includes an uninstall option, and I believe there is an uninstaller available (perhaps third party) for the FTDI drivers. Do a quick google search.

well went into my control panel and the unistall option. now i cant find the drivers. ecm spy and megalog are there but theres not a driver one. idk if its possible tht it is under one of those but highly doubt. what now?

ok did find the driver on my computer so i went ahead and installed the prolific driver. pluged in the cable and found it fine. now what?

Reboot. Then check and see if the cable is appropriately recognized by looking in the Hardware Profile section of your Control Panel (it's under System). When you plug the cable in, a new COM port should pop up.

Are you looking in the Device Manager when you plug it in? It'll be under the "COM" drop down menu. You have to have it expanded to see it populating when you plug in the cable.
