Hey all. I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly my shifter is supposed to be aligned. I have looked at tons of pictures online but I have factory shifter still and what I'm seeing are a lot of exotic looking over the primary case reverse pattern stuff. I'd like to see how a factory setup is setup. I know you can adjust to your liking but my biggest problem is the @$&:/! ing clutch cable. It's in the way no matter what I do. Uuugh. Help if y'all can, thanks.

He posted in the tuber section so I'm assuming he has a tuber. Here is a pic of an X1. All the tubers I've seen have the shifter set up like this so if it is by the clutch cable sounds like it isn't situated right.

I did. I have an 02 white lightning. My shifter sits (currently) below the primary. Can it be arranged above it? I'd post what I have but don't know how.

I think in 01 they dhanged to the shifter you have or at least it sounds like it.You are most likely going to have to do a bunch of adjusting and experamenting.Picture would help.

That shifter mount is actually in the wrong hole aaronbuell. It's supposed to be in the back of the two holes - for stock location. But, I assume either hole can be used if you have big feet. :D
I have the manual and actually looked at this today. I just put my clutch pack/primary back together.
The small linkage is supposed to be aimed just below the left bolt on the inspection cover.

To OP. Do you have the 1.5" spacer behind your foot shift lever between it and the primary case?

to - aaronbuell - Two other things I noticed is that is not the stock shifter, so it probably has to be in the front hole to work AND your small lever is set one tooth too low. Again, for your shifter to work I bet it has to be that way.

I will see if I can find a way to post a pic out of the manual. Anyone have an idea on PDF posting?

I apologize for how small this is, it's from the original for sale page... In this pic, the small arm is set too high. I moved it to where it aims 1/4" below that bolt and had all kinds of adjustment in where it hit my foot. It sounds like yours may be a reverse setup gone wrong... You should be able to just flip it.

I did go back to the manual after posting the above and realized I made a mistake. Your small lever is in fact on the correct tooth. Mine was an the same one, but I just remembered it wrong...

Good luck.
