hey guys heres my situation. already had thread on this before but i still need help. havnt rode bike due to issues. bike pulling check engine light and sounds bad when running. loud clicking. got new ecm spy cable as a could not find old one. now just need to get it to work. i know you have to have drivers for the cable but mine still wont work. had trouble getting ones of ftdi so octopus told me get prolific driver. however i still cant get it to connect to use ecm spy to read codes. please help.

ok have prolific driver installed successfully. it reads the cable. now how do i get it to connect with ecm spy? its pluged in but dont think its reading it. bike is on and ingnition on

I believe there is a way to switch it, I'll look when I get home since I can't remember right now and I'm at work

cant get codes by jumping either. tried two different pieces of wire one was even speaker wire from pin 1 to 2 and turned bike and igintion on and nothing. doesnt do flashing thing. i really need to figure this out.

I hate to say it, but if you're trying to pull codes using the jump method and you're bot getting anything, have you considered a bricked ECM?

havnt really thought bout it. i mean its got race ecm on there so i hope not. i mean since bike still runs idk that it

Go back and read your first post. Something is wrong if you can't communicate with the ECM, what else might be FUBAR? You can't diagnose it with it not talking to you. Swap in another ECM.

only problem is i cant just swap a stock ecm on there. im running 90ci kit and afraid tht would be running so lean it dangerous for motor. if thts it this goin to cost me a ton. new ecm plus complete retune

check the wires from the data link connector to the ecm and ground useing an ohm meter.you may have a bad wire.also check the connector and ecm for damaged pins sometimes the pins get loose or splayed and dont make a good connection.

i didnt put kit on or do motor. harley dealership had as race bike. really not many ppl make kit. and its the v.1.12.26... put it on to tune my xb9. and ill check the connections too.
