New 08 1125 R owner from NJ

Just bought a 2008 1125r with 3000 miles for $5500 I know it sounds a little high but on reality I traded a 2003 SV1000S with 32000 miles and paid $3000 cash. It runs great no fluid around the clutch. Has barkers exhaust haven't looked to see if it has a ebr ecu yet.

Looks identical to the one I sold last year. Had black barkers and some **** rigged rear signals 3,200 miles

2008's are not known to have charging issues. They all have clutch weep eventually unless upgraded to the ebr or oberon version.

Thanks for the heads up cosworth. So I got off work today and checked it has a stock ECU. So are the Erick Buell race ones obtainable now. Should I just find a stock muffler to put back on it.

If it is riding to your satisfaction and it isn't throwing a check engine light, then you should just leave the exhaust. The stock ecm might have been reflashed with a barkers tune? who knows?

Phlegm420 you could be right no CEL. Sounds cammed at idle. Idles at around 1200-1500 and has strong linear power.

I'd strongly advise going to xopti and get a tune for that exhaust. Its going to be running lean, to a point it will try to adjust the maps but can only do so much. Lean is no good for any engine.

Okay I'm clueless what's involved in all of this. I've tuned using a power commander 3 usb. I'm willing to drive if someone is local.

Thanks cosworth. So I'm in danger of damaging my motor riding it at this point? There is no drive ability issues that I've noticed but I can't afford a damaged motor. A few other things I've noticed. The kick stand switch is removed not a bad thing I've heard of bikes shutting off during track days or just hard riding if these fail. Also three of the bolts were missing out of the barkers exhaust from the mid pipe to the muffler that's fixed.
