New (almost) Buell Owner

If things go well I will be picking up a 2008 XB12R tomorrow. I have been looking online at forums for a bit now and still am not 100% sold on anything particular to look for on these bikes when buying used.

Anything that anyone on here would care to share that is a typical trouble point...or cause for alarm?

Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Firebolt. I absolutely love the bike. There are a few things I will need to change but overall the prior owner took decent care of the bike and did some really tasteful upgrades.

I am surprised that this thread sat without any responses though. At least there is an abundance of knowledge in the search box.

Welcome to the family and congrats on your purchace. Not to many problems to watch for as long as its tuned properly to adjust for mods and no leaks. There pretty simple bikes if youve owned or have had bikes in the past just look for problems with where n tear items. Tires , brakes and so on. If it runs and looks like its been taken care and maintianed. Hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine!

Congrats man. I remember the night before I got mine. I was driving from Knoxville tn to Indy Indiana to pick it up. Man I was like a kid on Christmas. Couldn't sleep. Kept going out to the truck and checking that I had everything to take with me.finally fell asleep dreaming about the thing and then was up like 2 hours before I needed to be. That was over a year ago and I still get all hopped up before a ride. Damn! I love this bike. Have fun brother!
