I had 6,500 on my first set of power pures wits centre wear and my second set has 6,500 on them now and I've gotten a much more even wear since I've been going down to the edge a little more often, I should get at least another 1,000 miles on this set. And they were only $290 shipped and I installed them myself which saved me probably $200.

Folks charge you 200 bucks to mount tires? Good god. I paid 40 bucks to have a front and rear mounted last week.

I have a question... I know the 180= tire width and the 17 is the rim size.. but what is the 50 or 55 in the middle?

Aspect ratio. Rear tire is 55% tall of 180mm or has 99mm tall sidewall.

Pilot road 3 don't know if you got it there but it's perfect for rain like yesterdays.

[up] on the Shinko Ravens also, they are great value, I got both front and rear tires for under $200. They handle pretty good and are fine in the rain.

Just the money you save in gas alone over the next 3000-6500 miles should be enough incentive to make you want to buy some dunlop roadsmarts or michelin pilot roads.

Value is not a word in my tire dictionary. Seriously besides having a machine that is safely maintained there is single handedly nothing more important on a motorcycle than tires.
