Hello!
New to the Buell seen, found a fairly fresh 1125CR. I love sport V-twins and the Rotax on my Spyder, so I had to have another.

Is there anything I should watch for on this machine, aside from motorcycle inspection, something in particular to the CR?

I see it's built after the charging recall models, so that seems clear. Anything else?

I found this site googling "battery 1125cr" and 1125cr recall".

Possibly from lack of use, the battery is starting to fail. I checked all connections and they are were tight, I loosened and retorqued the battery connection for fresh contact. The battery light has started to come on, I have ridden it for over 1k mls now before this began happening yesterday. I placed it on a battery tender all night and it reached 13.6 VDC, there was about a .8 to 1 V drop when tender was removed. It needed to be run at about 5K for the light to extinguish yesterday while riding. Today with the meter attached I watched the voltage play with engine running. The light came on immediately and would not extinguish until 3k, the meter reaches 12VDC at that time and drop to 11.7 to 11.9 at idle. Looks like the charger is doing a the work and the battery is not retaining any charge.
Any one familiar with this on there CR?
thanx

Argh, stator fail eh.
Ok, so today I took it out for a ride with voltage toggled on the diplay. Looked great for a few miles at 4 to 5.5k on the tach on the interstate, displayed up to 14.5 volts then dropped dramatically and hovered at 12.4. When within the city the voltage was dropping as low as 11.5 VDC, but stayed running no problem. Once again, it needed at least 4.5k on the tach to balance the draw of voltage. The battery light would pop on at stop lights and sometimes the engine light. Once on the way to the destination a message cleared the operating display and flashed to check the electrical system and then the display return to original. The same thing happened on the way back and then made it back to 12.3 VDC once back on the interstate.

I am not sure about he operation of the cooling fans, but it seemed as though they were initially were off at start, but then I could hear them at each stop light. Seemed a little odd, do they run when no speed is sensed? The CT temp was at 160, it was chill here today, we had some snow on the mountains, too. I am use the fans coming on at about 210~220 on all my other sport V-twins(TLR,TLS,SV) including the Spyder. Prior to this and now as well, they go through a single if not twin fan operation at shutdown for a timed period and cut out as well. Should they be running like this or is this the voltage thief? Not able to tell or hear obviously if they are running while on the interstate.

thanx
