Hey all, just picked up my first Buell. Went with an 04 XB12R and I love it! Was looking at exhaust mods and found this forum and it was a great help. Looks like I will go with a Drummer because I want to keep the stock ecm for now until I install a K&N filter, race ecm, and mod the airbox. I've owned just about every sportbike out there, including a handful of big liter v-twins, and this Buell is much more than I expected. Looking forward to chatting and getting ideas from those in-the-know!

First of all welcome to the forum. Have you checked out the exhaust shootout as americansportbike.com ? There are dyno charts on every available exhaust. Not out to change your mind as Drummers are great pipes but you may want to consider the Spec Ops. It also works with the stock ecm if no other changes are made and it keeps the exhaust valve intact so you don't have to buy the servo emulator to keep your check engine light off (you can also keep the servo hooked up and zip tie the cable to keep from having to buy the emulator). It's a lot cheaper also.

Haven't checked it out yet. I'll check into the Spec Ops pipe. Doesn't the Drummer keep the exhaust valve intact too? Thanks much for the info!

Thanks again for the useful info. Checked out Spec Ops and it seems like a heck of a deal and still be able to keep everything stock-for now! Can't wait to make this thing bark!!!!
