New (to me) Buell XB12R

What's up guys? Just a bought a new (to me) Firebolt XB12R. This is my second bike, and I'm loving it so far! It's a 2008, <6000 miles, rebuilt title, black fairings/windscreen (originally white/blue), and stock for the most part. Aftermarket parts that I know of are as follows:

-Shorty levers (not sure of brand off the top of my head)
-Dan Moto slip-on (seems cheap and doesn't seem to get good reviews on here, I know. It sounds decent, though. I'm in the process of looking for a stock exhaust to throw on for the mean time)
-Fender eliminater
-Short stalk, carbon fiber turn signals

Not much for now, but I'm sure that will eventually change. Not hard for me to get bit by the mod bug.

Enough talk, here's what I have for a picture:

Plans for the bike include:
-Sliders/spools
-White fairings/gold powdercoated wheels
-Different exhaust and ECM to accomodate
-Other misc. maintenance items/checks and DIYs as posted in the thread on the site here

Any suggestions/recommendations are appreciated!

I'm currently looking for the left side passenger peg assembly (bracket, peg, heel gaurd, etc.) and a stock exhaust to replace the slip on that's on there.

Welcome. There is a guy selling a stock exhaust for 65 which is a steal if you ask me. Maybe y'all are close or something. Nice bike. Mines white and blue and I love it. Never seen the white with gold. Unique thought.

That exhaust looks pretty cool. If you like the way it sounds, makes decent power, and isn't causing a lean issue (excessive backfiring, running hot, etc), I'd keep it until it wears out or falls apart...

Good luck with the bike. I've had my '06 for a couple month. Loving it.

Bike does backfire and get quite hot, but I'm not sure what's "normal" for these bikes. Would rather do it right and accompany a flashed ECM with a good quality exhaust. I will take it to my mechanic of choice soon to see what he thinks about it.

As far as the link of the pegs at Buellsterparts, those are driver pegs not passenger. I've got a call and email in to them about what I'm looking for, though.

That exhaust looks like a beast. I'm sure with a little tune you would be good to go.

As far as hot, thats what Buells do, they are hot. I put the larger ULY right side scoop on and it seems to help.

Welcome! Sweet looking bike! I got drawn into this world a couple of months back. I have a brand new Ninja and didn't know much about Buell's. I bought an 03 Firebolt thinking it would be a fun second bike.... now it's the major hobby in my life! Congrats!
