new xb9 lightning owner

names kevin, live in hanson, ma. I drive a 2000 ford lightning 6lb pullied, tuned.
just got an 03 buell xb9 lightning 19000 on it name, guy before me said it has a stage 1 kit.

but I got problems, for the first two weeks it was running fine n going good, now it bogs n shuts down, have to put it back in neutral to start it, and can go but then few seconds later itll do it again. anyone got any idea's???

First off welcome. Secondly...Pics! Third....I have no idea what a stage 1? is for an xb. That only makes me think of jets for a carb but perhaps someone else knows what your referring to..these bikes are FI.

For the stalling...id start simple...plugs. ..wires..did you use high octane fuel? They dont like low grade at ALL. This kind of seems fuel pump related imo. But start simple.good luck

thanks crazytexan, that's what the old owner told me, stage 1 is upgrade muffler, filter and ecm tune???

and yes 93, but idk if regular was used before me. I plan to pull the plugs tomorrow afternoon to check them, how would I check the pump??

welocme to the forum... read the codes first before messing with anything...take your seat off, on the right side next to the ecm is a gray dongle...jump pins 1&2 with key turned on, do not start the bike, read the flashes of the engine light...download the manual from the link above just below the Buellxb header or from buellmods.com...this will help you pin point the problem

well guys I tried jumping the two, now my bike wont start... anyone know of any place in mass that can check it out?

Kevin I live in Abington, right down the street from you. Did you try and start the bike with the wires jumped? You don't have to and I don't know what would happen if you did
What were the codes?
Do you have a battery charger?
And of course, pics of the bike

gloomshadow a battery brand new is the first thing I did when I got it.

josh662234, whats up? yea I didn't check the codes I couldn't figure out which two pins to jump and where that piece was, it did sit for a few months, I went to a Harley dealership today, I got some new Harley plugs the 6r12 n replaced my old ones the 10r12a. the 10r12a ones were smoked black, I switched them out just got some fresh 93 gas n some dry gas addivitve from the dealership also, I started it up sounds good a lot better than before, I will take it for a spin tomorrow to see how it goes.

thanks josh, and I went to high octane Harley in Billerica, went for 15 miles today, so far so good, bike moves out of its way like a beast!!

well guys bike fouled out second set of plugs, any ideas what it could be?
