I have seen it in a couple of post by you guys that have done some mods. Just did a search but guess I'm not using the correct terminology...

What is a "de-noid" - what does it do and how do you do it? I assume it is the removal of some solenoid.

Thanks-[confused]

It is a 1125 mod the selnoid shuts on of the throttle bodys to make them meets emission standards . It is easy but you need the resitor I got mine from the dealer was like 7 bucks

Thanks RT,

Yeah I knew it was an 1125R or CR Mod from reading the threads but just can't find how to do it. You got a PN for the resistor? Do you know if there is a post with pics of this mod?

It is a pretty straightforward operation. Be careful about replacing the airbox cover if you aren't familiar. Might be a good idea to take pics and look at how the breather hose and gasket are beforehand so you put it all back like it was. I think that is the hardest part of the "mod". Removing the solenoid is a peice of cake.

There are detailed pics on BadWEB...Even though I know everyone is anti badweb lol. Good info though.

Its a "if you want awesome throttle control" mod. The solenoid was to reduce engine noise upon acceleration and braking to fit within EPA guidelines if I am not mistaken. Not really a safety issue at all.

Not really a safety issue at all.

Some posts on "other" Buell forums mention they have had power starve situations at certain power bands. This could be a safety issue if you are depending on that power to get you out of trouble or if you were not expecting it.

But anyway I just completed the DE-NOID

Question-

I didn't take notice before I disassenbled. The airbox baseplate, which is only secured at the front by the two screws seems like the back is loose or lifted up some. Is this a result of removing the noid bracket w/o cutting it and re-installing? Seems like now I can lift up on the entire "tank" assembly and move it and the body line gaps seem wider toward the back. I am 99.9% sure it is put back together correct and all the hoses and throttle body mount gasket are seated right.

Can someone go and see if their stock, Un De-Noided 1125 lifts like that?

Did you re-install the bracket? I did without cutting so if I sold the bike to someone who wanted it, it could be replaced. If you did not install it, that could be your problem.

brackets off.
so with your bracket still on, does the cover/base wiggle like I described?

If im not mistaken, (its been awhile since i did mine), You have to have that bracket back on so when you put the screw thru the cover and box, it also goes thru the brcaket which is screwed down to the frame thus holding it all in place..
