I've decided that I may be putting a big bore kit on the bike when I'm doing all my other upgrades and painting this winter. I know these have bene atlked about before but I want to get everything into one place so that it will also be easier for everyone else in the future.

First--Who has done this and what is your opinion and problems you've found?
Second--Is it worth it?
Third--Any tips on the setup?

Never mind, I talked with Randy, I'm sending my exhaust to him next week and he said the 12 Crank in mine, the throttle body, headers, and ecm will be cheaper and give me more power.

You might need the wiring harness too, I thought I heard something about a few of the connectors being different? I may be crazy.

Makes sense though, all I could think when I was reading that was how much cheaper it would be just to get an xb12. I'd be curious to know how much you spend in the end. Someday I'd like to trade my bike in for an xb12, but considering I know my bike and it's history, I'd love to keep what I've got and just swap a few parts to turn it into the 12. I assume the new crank would include the connecting rods, do you have to swap pistons too? Some people put the 9 pistons in the 12 for a little boost in power so you'd probably do better to just leave yours in I guess. Maybe I should just keep an eye out in case any cheap xb12 parts come across, after you collect yours of course!

Does it matter what year ECM you get? Does it need to match the same year bike, the year of the throttle body, or does it not matter at all?
