No more Buell??? WTF!

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

if a Buell has a specific reason for bad sales, it is because of the bad Sales guy at nearly every dealer.

They don't make as much money on each compared to a sporster and most of them just brush off Buells as another crotch rocket.

Lakeshore Harley in Libertyville Illinois is a HUGE dealer. They are a Buell dealer as well. There is HD's everywhere in that place..showcased all nicely etc. I asked if they had any Buells in stock because i didnt see any. They responded....yeah theyre back there and pointed to the used bikes. So mingled in with a few used sportbikes and a couple non-HD cruisers is 3 new Buells. 1125R...1125CR..and an XB12S.

Im not going to make any enemies here and start smacktalking the parent company of my new favorite bike. Lets just say Im not a fan of HD....just as those HD guys arent fans of Buell :)

Sorry...let me add that the parts guy at Lakeshore Harley was among one of the friendliest salesman Ive met...and not overbearing. Just a fellow rider happy to help someone customize thier bike

why dont we open up our own buell store...sell just buells! 1 of the main reasons why buells dont sell as many as they could is because they barely market them! If half the people at harley shops actually went to classes to learn about the bike, their sales would go up so much.

Buell just picked up a huge advertiser though. I think I read an article about them getting on board with these 2 guys who have done really good advertising for big name companies!

Harley never used to be into modding your bike, when my dad was a kid you got nowhere trying to be any different than stock, plus all the foreign bikes were running circles around them, reliability, functionality, etc. Harley has a history of catching on late. I for one like that Buells are under the radar still, even if parts and service are hard to get. I don't even want to think of my bike as a harley.

i am located in Québec city (Canada)
my dealer is a big HD dealer, but buell takes second place. They order about 6 a year and no more.
They are NOT very likely to give any kind of packaged deals, like bags and side pucks ... like one would get when buying a car. also, you wont find many buell accessories on the shop floor. Most of them are in the back... at least they have them. ;)
But then again, i own a Buell, and do not consider myself a HD rider.
At least, they are friendly ;)

I for one baught a buell because it is a harley and I know harleys like the back of my hand. I did not ever concider a Buell though until I decided I would try out the sport bikes. The problem HD has with the Buell is marketability. There is not enough volume to warrant a Buell dealership and 99.9% of sportbike riders do not think of a sport bike when they see the bike black and oragne HD sign even if it has a Buell sign under it.

Here in GA we have two or three Buell dealers, but they are like everyone else has been saying. They only carry one or two buells on the floor. I actually have an HD dealer less than 3 miles from my house and it is probably one of the newest ones around GA, but they do not carry Buells. THey did have one blast on the floor, but it was from the sister store.

I went in to check on tires and they told me that they dont carry tires for crotch rockets. Oh well the Yamaha shop said they would sell me tires for it and even install them. Go figure. You can get better service from a Yamaha shop than you can from the HD shop.

Bitter sweet, to be different you have to sacrifice.

Sucks but none the less Buells still rule.

Hey folks,

after reading this thread I was a little bit surprised that seem that only few US dealers really deal with Buells.
It looks like that we´re having more luck with buell stores here in "good old germany".
My dealer is a smaller HD/Buell dealer and the owner is definetely a HD/Custombike guy but his master mechanic is my age (28) and a buell rider. Generally my dealer used to have at least 1 "9", 3 "12" and 2 "watercooled" ones in stock continuously. For a demo ride you regularily can choce between a XB model and a 1125 model.
The merchandise corner is a smaller one but that don´t matter much for me ´cause when I go to the shop it´s for maintenance /modifications and I use to buy merchandise stuff directly in the US (at St.paul or Smokey Mountain HD)as it is a hell cheaper than here.

So anyway: Hope your dealer situation get´s better ?
And if not: You´ll always can do a trip to Germany and visit "our" stores as Mr. Buell itself did on the grand opening of http://www.buell-koeln.de/ (Buell Cologne) ;);):):):D:D

Regards

just got my bike two weeks ago in atlanta.salesman told me that they were getting out of the buell buisiness also

why doesn't buell advertise on tv...could'nt hurt.alot of the people that see my bike have never even heard of buell

I guess I am lucky cuz my nearest dealer is Skipfordyce HD in Riverside CA, and they have at least 8-10 Buells on the showroom floor at any given time. They even have a section of the store dedicated to all things Buell.

Im from Oklahoma and there are SEVERAL Harley dealerships hear throughout the state and only one that I know of sells Buells and they only have 3 in stock. It took me forever, probably 4 months, to finally find one that I liked and one in general locally.
