You might notice, you can't dyno tune an ecm everywhere for the same price as a race ecm cost. I have looked to do so and it's quite cheap at some places (foreign from my location), at others, up to three times as expensive. But, maybe another solution could do?
Get a Tfi or Remus powerizer (i am biased towards the Remus unit) + cut the white wire in the ecm harness (fuel blocking signal). Also get a exhaust valve emulator when using original ecm with aftermarket exhausts (muffler or full system). Then you do not need a race ecm. The Remus is self adjustable and just operate with a switch. On/off
- and otherwise works as Tfi but it's not demanding a dyno to work (at it's best or at all). Just set it at on - mode. It also adapts to all changes that fools like me do along the way. Say, new exhaust and changes to airintake and filter mods. This solution bettered my original race kit (with open airbox) in many ways. The bike run more even from low rpm to redline limit. It has much better acceleration and i can say that the former complaints i had to the original race kit is not apparent. Again, i really believe that a dyno tuned ecm is better still. The bike may not have more HP (i have been told that it doesn't from people that tested on bench/ dyno and these very guys sell dyno tune works for Buell xb), but it is likely possible that it will run even more refined, during to the more precise settings to the ecm. I have talked with some companies who do these things to fully know what is gained and what is not. However these companies are in different countries from me. I do not know, you might be in the same situation as me? If so, this is a good solution you can get (and do) yourself. As mentioned above, i tested the original Buell race kit (a few months) and some other changes to my own bike. I suggest you try this out and see what you think. I hope you find it nice I do!!
