They are clean looking, but damn they are expensive! Anyone have ohlins on their bikes? And how does the factory suspension match up?

There's so much experience on the site and after 100 views with no replies, does this mean the ohlins aren't worth the hype, or just too expensive to make sense?

Take the ohlins out of it, are there any other forks that work well with Buells?

No, those are Ohlins made specifically for the XB. Try contacting Ohlins USA directly. I know at one point they had a set on eBay for months and no one bought it. I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing them. I did however have a few email conversations with them.

i think this is right might want to check the buell parts guy thread to make sure..
03 and 04 has 41mm forks.05 and up has 43mm forks, however some models still has the 41mm forks.
1125 has 45mm forks. You can/should fit any fork to any xb if you use a correct triple tree assembly.

Showa is a high end suspension manufacturer. I personally think the suspension on the XB's is much more capable and adjustable than just about any rider. Just my opinion, you could always go out and get them gold anodized if you need the look though. Changing out the forks is a ton of money for no real improvement.

i highly disagree. if you race, they're worth their weight in gold. theres not a single thing that annoys me about my buell's suspension more then if you adjust preload it changes compression and rebound values. ohlins not only fixes that, but they they have the highest range of adjustability and te best ease of access.

Those forks are pure sex but they would double the value of my bike.

I think for the average street riders, our Showa suspension is more than we need and we're lucky to have the level of adjustment that we do.

Still though.... Ohlins parts make my pants tight.

Keppi is building an 1125R into a replica RR, he opted to swap the entire front end to run the CF wheel as well.
