Oil change ?

Just did oil change on 2007 XB12S. Followed directions in manuel and noticed oil was way low. Added 4 oz. like the DIY video on this site. Still showed low after running. Called HD Dealership where I purchased bike and mechanic told me sportster and Buell motors can take up to 3qts oil for engine due to design. Anyone have same experience.

The oil capacities are

Primary: approx. 1 qt.
Engine: 2.5 qt. including .4 in filter

As long as you're checking it on the sidestand, 2.5 qts. should have you at least showing on the dipstick. Fill it properly according to the dipstick, that nitwit mechanic will have you spraying oil all through your cranckase hoses.
