I saw this and thought I should share. I've been using Mobil one on all my bikes and cars, just because it's easy to find and I've had great success with it. Here's a link to a lab tested SAE 50 group of sixteen brands. At the top AMSOIL, Mobile 1, and BMW oil.

Motor oil comparison[up]

mobil 1 car oil is a favorite with lots of harley owners for years..you talking 15/50 car or 20/50 so called motorcycle oil

I've been using Mobile 1 for years, in all my vehicles, and I have never experienced any failures, and I don't treat them well. I try to let them warm up, before I beat on them. but as a mechanic My stuff is always last to be fixed, or serviced. I do tend to extend the oil change intervals, well past recommended limits. I think I am coming up on 2 years for the bike, but it is on the list. Behind all the Honey-Do's, any of you in relationships Know what I am talking about.

Later,
I'm sure I have something else to do

two years on the bike lol now thats busy...i always found or it seems .. car motors out last the car or truck im most cases everything around the motor starts to decay where it gets to costly to fix and the motor is still good

I think it will be 2 in April, so really closer to 1.5 years, but that's how it gets away from you. I have a 3 year old son, and a New two year relationship with a whole family of girls, so the mechanical stuff gets pushed way back on the list.

As far as the engines, you would be correct, I usually have the water pump, alternator, as always in Phoenix batteries never last in this heat, Then little things you don't think of here, Wiper blades fall apart from the heat, and the A/C after a couple years gives up.
