I've got a leak coming from my oil line or cooler. I can't tell. Anyone else have that problem? Should I just replace both the cooler and the lines?

I had the same problem. I replaced the cooler and it stoped leaking for about 2 months, than it started leaking a lil again. We might ride too hard and it can't take the pressure..

I doubt I ride agressive enough to force a leak on the oil cooler! Good idea though.

Don't think your theory works.

I've got two good crashes, bending the oil cooler sideways, and not a leak.

Whole oil system just fell apart and I've got a major rebuild going on but there's no leak at the cooler.

You do realize the line fittings are just snug and a bit tight, right? Any more could cause a leak but that's not the bike's fault.

Yea, I haven't touched the lines, fittings or cooler. It's just got a bunch of oil around the area behind the fittings on the cooler.

Mine has leaked since forever.. Bought my bike new in 04, prob. started leaking in 06.. Tried tightening it, Teflon tape then finally replaced the line and now it leaks from the other end.. I gave up. Sorry for the rant, just realized I'm not helping much.

The oil cooler lines are famous for rubbing and creating holes in the lines on some of the older XBs. I had this happen to me recently. I have an 03 XB9S. They make a kit now that replaces both lines and comes with a pastic piece that seperates the line to keep them from rubbing. Got the kit from Harley for about 125.00. No more leaks.

I had this problem also. Replaced cooler and lines. And it doesn't leak any more. It was a simple fix. Take off/get rid of old stuff put on new stuff.
