I have a 2009 1125cr and i bought the synthetic oil and internal oil filter from harley and it was expensive as hell! about 30 bucks for just the filter, and 10 bucks a quart. anyone know of a different brand filter/oil that fits my bike? thanks.

The filter lists for $14.95, so you got hosed there. Find a different dealer or buy it online from one. $10/quart is average, depending on which type you run. Amzoil is about $11/quart I think.

PS. The HD oil isn't full synthetic, take it back if that's where you got it at.

i just got my filter from the dealer and it was 19.95 and the oil was like 8 per qt for the recommended oil the book calls for. next change i think ill go with rotella T. fairly inexpensive and did pretty well in comparison tests based on an article in one of my magazines

yea I thought that was way too expensive but that harley dealership is the only one that carries buell filters in my area thats why i was seeing if i can get cheaper ones somewhere else.

Mine was the same as popeye. 19.95 for the filter and oring, 8.95 a quart for the recommended oil and I just reused the plug washers. That was 3000 miles ago and haven't had any issues.

Just wondering, why would you have issues? Reusing the o ring is fine as long as its not cracked.

here is some filter cross references not sure on prices

Buell Q1064.1AM (Rotax RB-X134)
Aprilia AP0956745 (Rotax RB-X134)
BRP Can-Am Spider 420956745 (Rotax RB-X134)
Hiflofiltro HF564

Dave service manual says the drain plug washers are one time use on a 1125. The filter o-ring comes with a factory bought filter. But sure if u want to reuse the filter o-ring and it's not torn go for it. :)
