Wanted to share since I really like the XG4967 on my Uly and have been using it for the last 3 years almost 30K miles.
There is an ongoing Oil Filter comparison on the Tiger1050 forum that has the FRAM Ultra Guard and the Triumph Factory filter currently at top of the list to date, still ongoing.
Not all FRAMS are alike. Here is the quote from the Tiger forum I removed the numbers since they do not apply to Buells:
"According to DaddyFlip not all FRAMs are alike, tried to quote but here is a paste of DaddyFlips currently subjective comparison with FRAMs Extra Guard (PHxxxx) and Tough Guard (TGxxxx) oil filters:"
"The Fram Ultra Guard filters (XGxxxx) are a different beast. This is a well constructed filter with dual media and mesh backing with silicone ADBG. For those running the GIVI lower crash bars where clearance for a long-form filter might not work, the XGxxxx is a short-form with the same media and build. Both Ultra Guard filters will be recommended." End of Quote.
Personally do not think the other FRAMs have a steel screen, why I initially started using this filter, or are as good? DaddyFlip found the FRAM PH, and TG filters have paper End Caps and the XG does not. For $8.97 at Wally World, pretty cool seeing some confirmation that it is the real deal. Not sure if a shorter filter for a Buell would offer an advantage, maybe change without removing the chin fairing, but I would rather have a full sized O.F.
