I finally got the buell battery and shes been running awesome!!! I did however notice that when i parked it in the garage I saw some oil on the floor, maybe a teaspoon in 24 hours. I inspected and found where the leak is coming from but it doesnt make sense. On the front cylinder up top where the engine connects via mount to the frame on the left, I saw oil coming of that mount. I cannot see anywhere else it could be coming from, Any help guys?

Check to see if there is any oil in the air filter area. Could be blown up there if the oil was overfilled. Just a thought.

Thankyou for the response. I will surely check when I get off work, however i did check the oil several times after shutoff and even after about an hour and it wasnt ever above the halfway mark on the dipstick.

Btw the buell is a 2000 millenium edition x1 lightning, and the correct term for where it "appears" to be leaking is the front isolator mount on the left (shift-side).

I most definitely will later when I'm home of the spot its leaking from. Again its not bad, but of course its concerning. Is there a link to the rocker box reroute or better than stock application for that year you know of? Thnaks guys for your help again, I love this site.

You could convert the 3 piece rockerbox cover to a XB rocker box setup which will help the heads breath alot better. I'm not sure what it is you have to do but if you are going to end up replaceing the gaskets you might want to look in to it. I plan on doing it when mine needs replacing.

yeah, I'm not sure how comfortable I will be on replacing the gaskets though, if you or anyone has, is there any special way or technique? And putting the XB rocker setup on, have you seen this done?

Found this on http://TheX1Files.com

XB Rocker Covers on an XL Buell Engine

The benefit of doing this is greatly improving the engine’s breathing ability and therefore reducing the amount of oil puking out of the heads, a subject near and dear to every Sportster/Buell owner. A side benefit is the “cool factor” of having new XB parts on your old tube frame Buell.

Here are the parts that you will need:

17605-00YB Rocker cover, front head $39
17642-02A Rocker cover, rear head $39
17606-00YA Grommet, Viton, Black $2.95 each (need 2)
17607-00Y PCV Valve, $6.90 each (need 2)
868A Hex Socket Button Head Screw, $4.75 each (need 2)

My millenium is also leaking except mine is from the rear rocker box. Its about a 4hr job(240-340$) at the stealership plus 70$ in parts or 70$ in parts and 60$ for a service manual and You can try it.
