so ive been reading peoples post for a little over a year and just signed up tonight so i could make this post. i have 2004 xb12r with about 7200 miles on it...and i just did an oil change on the bike (third time ive done it but this is the first time ive had this happen) and now when ever i let the needles sweep and the fuel injector do ts thing...the oil light is on...but i go to start it and the bike starts and the light goes of and stays off..but it happens EVERY time i start the bike....any ideas guys?

Like they said it's normal. If you wait like 5 seconds I believe it will go off. I think the manual even says to wait until the fuel pump primes, the gauges sweep, and the oil light goes off, THEN to start the bike.

yea i wait....for the fuel pump to go off every time....i thought the same thing snrusnak said but it NEVER goes off until i start the bike...on problem i did notice is the threading on my oil cooler seems to not be threaded right from the previosu owner (looks like he stripped it and just tightened it on really tight....soooo my idea was to get some locktite thread sealant and some teflon tape until my new oil cooler comes in.....could this have anything to do with it? im a college student and the buell xb12r is my first bike so im still in the learning curve here....appreciate the quick response though guys thanks!

Well like they said there is no oil pressure when the bike isn't running so all is well. If you haven't ordered a oil cooler I have one with lines I could sell.

yea id be interested for sure...want to text me? i found one on american sport bike for like 132 brand new but i dont know what the shipping would be....let me know 804 543 7761

I wouldn't be worried unless the light was one while the bike was running. But it is odd that it won't go off.

^^^thats what im saying....but sounds like from what yall have said, that there is nothing really to worry about[up]
