I know a few of you been wondering what my thoughts of the 2010 Kawasaki zx10r vs my 1125r and i will also add some comments reffering to the xb9sx.

The Xb9sx was my first bike in many years bought used with 2k miles (still own this bike but Cherry my fiancee is riding it now configured as a xb9r).

The xb was very light agile and flickable.
easy to roll in a corner hit the apex and whack the throttle wide open.Never did much to the suspnsion other than set it to my weight in the owners manual.
2up riding with the s tail was misrable.r tail made it decant for me but the passanger felt like they where sitting straight up.Hot seat and burns right leg header wrap and rss reduced this.
Very relible only once did i ever end up on the side of the road and it was my fault i had pinched a wire putting the front belt cover on.
Simple to work on.(not that it ever needed much).
Short rpm range alot of shiftting rough clunky transmission.alot off force to pull the clutch.Mirror that vibrate so much you can't see more than a blur.
average mpg 50

Now the 2009 Buell 1125r Bought new febury 2010.
This bike has alot of charictor.uniuqe sound and look.
Loud rattle engine sound like a bucket bolts under 3k in rpms. Mirrors better than the xb but you have to pull your elbows in to see still pretty shaky.
Ton of low end grunt 4k up.Easy to power wheelie.
Handling was much slower than the Xb requires work to drop it in the corner and ease back on throttle or you will either lift the front wheel or blow the rear tire loose.tried many suspension adjustments to be comfertable on the road and tight twisties.
The powering up of the front wheel made me fall in Love with this bike after i put the gpr Damper on it.
During a track day coming out of low speed curves it was a ton of fun to power up and carry the front wheel for 8 or 10 feet.Slipper clutch really only created the loud rattiling but doesn't really work.
On hot days you feel like your going to self combust.
very hot right leg and misrable to ride in traffic.
Seariously you keep checking to see if your on fire or not.Transmission is far smoother than the xb.But easy to get false nutrals.
Relibilty was great the first year and 10k miles(one r/r took a week to make them belive me it was bad and i had a video of the ic going out).
this summer after adjusting valves over the winter (PITA) replacing plugs,r/r and having the stator rewound. 5k my stator smoked on the way back from that repair my drive belt snapped.(2 differnt dealers both damaging my bike while there for service).2500 miles later stator burned a leg again.
I have spent sevral hours on the phone with HD customer care.they really see Buell's as an PITA and hate dealing with us.They did nothing out of the way except over night parts to dealer of choice.(all three where more than a 100 miles from where i was and never offerd to pickup or give me a loaner while i was 700 miles from home)
2up riding was pretty good with the touring rear pillon.Neither of us felt cramped but Cherry said i still sit to upright.
average mpg 40

Kawasaki Ninja zx10r bought new oct.2011.
This bike has spirit. Feels light and very flickable like the Xb.Came stock with a Damper less lowend torque than both the xb and 1125.But more high end horse power.Has some vibrations but it's fast and buzzy(completly dissapear under power).mirrors are fantastic you can see with out moving upright or tucked and actully make out what is behind you.
I have only got about 1k on it thus far but have been contacted buy my salesman and Kawasaki to be sure i was happy about my purchase...
This bike enters corners much faster than i was comfertable with on the 1125r and does not sound or feel like i am coming in to hot.
I have yet to really power much off corners but throttle and exit speeds are up.

Everything i thought i would hate about a rice bike i like. it's nice not to feel like my fillings are going to rattle out.Clipons are comfertable even on my iron butt ride home.
It is now hard to decide wich add ons i want since there so many to choose from. unlike the buell where you take what you can get or buy what you like then mod it to fit.Transmission is silky smooth and simple to find netral.Slipper clutch actully works.
I have only done one power wheelie that i am sure of 8k in first gear while over taking a car.
The suspension feel good but i have yet to really ride it hard in the twisties. So far i like the daul front disc seems to control easier and give more feed back.
aaverage mpg 34

I actully fit into the sprtbike groups.
when i bought my Buell i thought i would fit in with the hd and sportbike groups.but in all reality you only fit in with other Buell guy's.

Ok it feels like i just wrote a book. but i think i have covered everything.

Of course he does, it's a new bike. It'll be a better review after he has a year in the saddle.

You nailed the 1125 spot on. On the few rides I took on the one I am selling I thought my right foot would melt and this mind you was only after a mile or two, engine has gobs of power but steering and chassis never felt right. Turn in was way harder than on my XB and slow speed turns were shit. Engine does sound funky, especially at low rpms.

Very true...I will miss riding a piece of American history..Erik is very cool and has a great vision.
But i am sure the kaw will speed up my gas stops since i won't have to explain what it is.LMAO

Yeah. Truth be told, I don't miss my XB. Got rid of it in February and I'm glad I moved to KTM. I won't be surprised if your review doesn't change much between now and a year out. There's a lot of magic to Buells, but sometimes you have to give it up to the other manufacturers. Unfortunately they have way more R&D money than BMC ever did.

rt did you ever own a japanese sportbike before you owned a buell?

Not a sport bike.
First bike i ever owend was a ke100.
started riding on a honda rup 80
had a old 250 yamaha 2 stroke and then a 83 virgo 500 crashed that and bought a suzuki dr650 which i sold when i bought my house.

My first mid life crisis bike was the cityx.
Did ride a ktm rc8 and a fz8 at asheville bike fest over the summer.but have limited exprince with inline 4's

Love my ZX10, feels really light and has gobs of power, now my 12R is way more bike than anyone of my skill level should ever have on a public road. Going to drop it an inch and a half this week and putting a steering damper on it too.

Just watched a You Tube Vid where two Brits take a Hayabusa and ZX12R on roads in Belgium or Germany and hit an indicated 210MPH, the ZX out runs the Busa every time. I don't think I ever want to examine those extremes anytime soon though.

The great thing about XB's are that the power is very manageable on the street, you can whack it wide open and run out of power and rpm around 7K, on a liter bike you can double that. Not for the meek, feint of heart or novice.
