I know a lot of the world does not like the side pods and looks of the 1125R, but I do. The combinations of curves and straight lines, the stance. I think it's a sexy looking bike. I look at the new RX/SX and it starting to blend in to look like the rest of the superbike world. No offense to anyone who has went out and bought one, just not as sexy to me. I would love to have the 1190 power in the 1125 chassis. I have made a deal for a spare engine and plan this winter on tweaking more power out of it. Has any of the new 1190 owners received or purchased the service/parts manual yet? I know that the new owners get a USB thumb drive with the owners manual on it, but haven't heard anything yet on parts manuals. Anyone like to take a guess on if the 1190 engine will fit in an 1125R frame. Yes I know that a lot of other stuff will have to be changed also, but it would be easier than trying to make the same horsepower from an overbored 1125 with RR cams. Won't be long and there will be some of the engines available from salvage. Just trying to think things through.......

It might be easier (possibly cheaper) and quicker to just put an 1125R front end and the side pods on the 1190RX...

^ Yes. But it's the journey not the destination :)

TO THE EXTENT OF MY KNOWLEDGE. (Don't quote me on this)

To get 1190rx power and reliability you will NEED moar air. The intake of the 1190 is of a different design that requires the larger frame. Unless you do a lot of creative thinking an have plenty of money to play on. As it sits the 1125 helicon is already starved for air in the stock configuration. The motor itself should fit. Mounting-wise I have no clue. May want to contact john422, last I heard he owned both an 1125cr and a wrecked 1190.

All 1190rx manuals are on the web I will find them in the next few days and send them to you Mrlogix. I can't remember where they are off the top of my head at the moment.

As far as just beefing up the 1125, I had considered internal engine work but decided not to compromise the dependability of the engine. Now Instead I am experimenting with fine tuning airbox/exhaust and shifting the powerband. All I have to say on that matter is head work is always a good place to start. 1125rr cams? Good luck finding those. Getting dimensions and having a reputable can shop (or machining them yourself if you're feeling ballsy) seems more attainable. You already have the larger primary and a good exhaust, plus a good base setup for a tuner to work with.

When you get to the point where it is required I know a really good dyno man in Columbus that does all the Columbus racing stuff.

I understand what you like about the current and the past. Some would say its an artist, some would say not. I personally like the new sx with a lightning front end....it can be done and good luck

Hadn't thought of that one :D still like the pods and fairing over the S look. though :)

I think the answer lays somewhere between the two. I can compensate for some of the money with a lot of in house engineering and access to the right machines :D

I know that there has been revisions to the original crankcase design and some other updates. If I can get the parts/service manuals for the 1190 I can sort through the differences. The new engine is not simply an overbore. Just like goose stated, other systems of the powerplant have been redesigned for the power increases. I want more power, but would like to keep the torque curve the same. I am in love with the power out of the corners. looking for same power curves, just a little more of it. :D My company is doing a lot of development with composites for both structural assemblies and turbine internals. If I could just find another gear head like me....A composite frame and swingarm increasing strength and reducing weight would be awesome. Reliability for street use is what makes me consider the 1190 RX route. Any power adders I do to the 1125R may decrease mean time between failures. I've been trying to find any info I can on race prep and mods for the bikes that ran Isle of Mann TT this year. If EBR could get a podium finish at IOMTT, he will definitely have the worlds attention. Don't know if G. May would like the TT race, but have a feeling Eslick would be all smiles.

by the way, Whoever is responsible for the manuals on the BuellMods website, outfucking standing. :) I have downloaded the parts manual for the 1190RX. The manual there looks like an update of revisions focused on replacement items from minor crashes. The engine details on internals isn't there, but know the EBR team has their hands full and will get around to the documentation soon. Anyway, kudo's to the responsible person/people. +1 if someone will tell me who it is. :D

thanks goose, I had already found these cams. The new 1190 cams have a timing separation between the opening of the intakes (lobe timing) that induces a swirl effect in the combustion chamber. This would increase efficiency of the flame propagation and burn rate. Don't know if there is a difference in the cam drive assembly though. I know it may only be a percent or two of difference, but I would like to get as close to 200 HP as I can. :D This isn't going to be a quick build so trying to do the maximum research before I start. May be able to get D. Crower to make a set starting with this profile though.
