I'm new to this site, having been introduced recently through Yahoo when I needed technical information re a Blast problem. The site certainly has a wealth of information on Buells produced after the merger with Harley Davidson but I haven't seen anything regarding older Eric Buell "produced" bikes. I have a '92 RS1200 which I purchased new from a dealer in Bangor, Maine and am looking for any information or site that may provide maintenance regarding this older models. Work shop manuals were never available and the owners manuals provide little help. In particular, I would like information regarding swing arm removal procedures and engine lowering procedures. I have lowered the engine in the frame before in order to replace engine head and base gaskets but I think there must be a better procedure than the one I worked out. Thanks in advance for any advise I may receive.

Your problem finding Info on your Westwind maybe the fact that only 208 were built. I imagine most are off the road in collections. Its such a rare bike you my have to write Buell and explain your situation. I bet they would be more than happy to help. Good luck and hold on to that Bike.

Tom Anglum used to be very helpful up until the Harley acquisition. Those days are past and I haven't found much help in terms of tecnical advise or resources for replacement parts. Replacing the leaking 15 year old "Gambler" rear caliper literally took 5 months of calls and research as well as an extended wait for a fabricater to fabricate a fitting that would mate the replacement Wildwood caliper (3/8 NPT fitting?) to the stock banjo fitting. But hey, I can't complain the bike is 16 years old, has been ridden around most of the United States and still turns heads everywhere I go. I will upload photos of it in the next week.

Oops, I forgot to mention that the photo is of the visionary Eric Buell and me at the tiny East Wisconsin factory, circa 1994. I have other photos of their "production line" which I will upload next week

Very cool, its Buellers like you that took the chance back then and helped the company become what it is today. So thanks... and would like to see those pic's when you get them up.
