I have mostly been a lurker here but I do post up from time to time. I want to first start off by apologizing for some that might have had be come across as a asshole to them. So sorry for that. I share differences in opinions with some and that's probably the case. So hopefully we can move passed that.
So here's some background. The bike is a Buell Firebolt XB9R. I got it back awhile back with 3k on the odometer. One thing I never liked about the bike was the color but I have ALWAYS loved the Firebolt. I got such a good deal when Harley nixed Buell that I couldn't pass it up. Now with nearly 10k on the odometer its starting to have its issues.
First the primary covered developed a seep. its never been bad so I just left it. Next I noticed the .typical rocker box cover leak that seems to happen. That was twords the end of this season. Finally the bike has the original battery and it went out... or so I thought. Bought a new battery, put it in and a month later the bike died and left me stranded. Jumped it but the battery wouldn't come back to life. Needless to say after some diagnostics I have ruled it to the stator being shot.
So my schedule is limited and I work 2 jobs(1 full time 1 part time) and go to school part time. So being that theres only maybe a month and a half maybe 2 of riding I said screw it and decided to just leave the bike down for the rest of the season even though It kills me to do so.
Over the passed 6 months or so I have been collecting mods and I have not had any time to put them in so I figured I would make it a winter project. I will list my plans and what I have below.
Appearance
- Change all the silver frame and suspension parts to a semi-gloss black metallic
- Satin White Pearl Fairings(undecided still)
- SCG Low Seat and Tail
- XB Lights Taillight with Integrated Signals
- R1 Flush Mount Front Signals.
- 35W HIDs
- ASB Tank/Frame Guards
- GSD Mirror Block Offs
Suspension/brakes
- SCG Forks(all new seals and oil)
- SCG Shock
- SCG Swing Arm Conversion
- GPR Stabilizer
- Braking Front and Rear Rotors w/Ferrodo Pads
- Brembo Hidden Caliper
- Radial Brake and Clutch Master
- ZTL2 Front Brake
Performance/Engine
- Breather mod
- Air Box Delete
- Custom Forward Exit exhaust built by me
- Dyno Tune
- K&N Intake
- All maintenance items and fluids.
