I was just thinking how much I enjoy riding the Ully and was thinking about selling the SS ( it's definitely for a younger person ) on my way food shopping and wouldn't you know it, some guy in a cager on his cell phone rear ends me on the Ully. Down we go on the highway, good thing we both just turned on to the road and we weren't going too fast. I wanted to end his life, right there on the spot, that is if I could have gotten up.

I'm alright so far but my poor baby is sitting in some tow yard scraped up and probably not even covered up wondering where daddy is or his sister the SS and why he's out in the the freaking cold, I mean it's going to drop down into the 50's tonight, what the heck !

Yes, I'm pissed off !

Oh man, that sucks NJ. Glad you're ok, being so old and brittle.

 JK, really happy your all good man, could have been much worse:( IMO the 'safer' they make cars, the more dangerous they are to us.

Thank you all,
Cooter, oddly enough that's one symptom of old age I don't have, brittle bones. In fact the last little big mishap when I got the broken wrist ( that really hurts ) the doctors said my bones were unbelievable for a young person let alone someone my age and good looks, oh that's right they didn't say that last part that was when I was alone with the nurse !

Going to see my baby a little later.

I dont think I want to hear about you and Cooter talking about your bones.

Sometimes it feels like it's just a bunch of grumpy old men on this forum. The rest of the times, it's just a bunch of prepubescent 5th grade boys.

Thanks for my daily laugh you guys!

NJ - hope you and your dong and your bones all heal up well, and that you can get back on the road soon.

Hey, glad you weren't hurt NJ! Dunno how you managed to keep your temper in check with the jerk that hit you, but probably best u did. I'm sure you'll be able to get the uly all fixed up in no time

I've tried several times to post up pics, the problem is it won't transfer from my smart phone to the tablet, no matter what I do so, here is a verbal assessment of the damages.

The rear fender is toast, it split right where the side reflector is.
Both left side foot pegs are messed up,
The shift linkage is toast and it won't shift into 1 gear.
The left side rubber bumper is toast and I couldn't see anything u see it so, frame and gas tank are ???????
The turn signals are toast.
The left hand guard is, you guest it, toast.
That was all I could see and the guy didn't have a lot of time to spend with me to look it over, so I'll have to wait for the claims adjuster to check it out, then I'll be able to bring it home and go over it thoroughly.

All in all, she held up pretty darn good if there is nothing wrong with the trans but where the heck am I going to be able to get and entire rear fender ? I suppose I could have one made up of metal ?

Glad you're ok, NJ! Man, that's really sh#tty. It's rough out there, idiots can't break away from those damn cell phones. I'd try eBay for some of those parts you need, should find just about anything there.

Take care and be safe~

Be prepared to get a ‘total loss’ and a crappy offer:( Unless you have a “stated value” policy? They should include replacing any damaged gear you have too, your HELMET... even if it doesn’t look damaged. Try putting the pictures on Shutterfly or Flickr (for free) and post the links here.

A lot of times, when a Buell or Harley goes down on the left side, the shift shaft can get bent, or even pop off a shift pawl spring (behind the clutch basket), so it should be an easy trans repair if you decide to re-build her.
