Hey everyone; Crossed over to the dark side; Been riding harleys all my life (still have 6 of em) and now im the proud owner of an 08 1125r. I set up the suspension based on the recommended specs for 210-230 lbs riders. I right now weigh 222 and am on my way down to 200 (was 234lbs 3 weeks ago).

Anyone on here weigh over too lbs and know how their suspension is set up for street?

Thanks in advance;
Rich

a lot of guys on here are over 200.set your bike up to your weight with all gear on.im 190,with my gear on im around 210.

I'm 6'1" & staring at 3 bills fully geared up...I went to my local sportbike shop and went with racetech rear spring and their springs for the forks, too. My guy has an algorithym or something that you put your weight wearing all of your gear in and it spits out the correct spring rates for your weight. Also we dropped the trees 1/4 inch on the tubes and went with the next to higherst setting on tyhe rear shock, and it handles like it should have from the factory! Best of Luck!

I am 6'5" and am around 270 fully geared up. I set my suspension up by what the book recommended for that weight... not sure on exact settings

my suggestion is to find someone (read as winning roadracer) who you can trust and have them help you out, just make sure they are REALLY qualified to help. There are a lot of people out there who think they are the shiznit, but are really just the stain it leaves behind.

The easy way is do a trackday, spend either $60 or $90 and have the local suspension guys at the track do it. Best $$ I spent on mine in quite a while, huge improvements on how it handled at speed. It's a bit harsh for street riding, so it can be dialed back to suit your needs, but for all-out hard running, that's definitely the best route to take.
