I took ALL the plasctics and taped off the motor and other parts, wet sanded with 1500 paper, degreased, and sprayed with duplicolor metalic black.

How did the insides of the rails and swing arm come out or didn't you spray them?

i didnt spray the inside of the rails because you cant see them, just sprayed the outside top and bottom, the swingarm was the hardest part but its do-able if you take your time masking. Ill try to take more pics sometime soon

I'm doing the same thing to my frame and swingarm, except my plastics are black and I haven't decided which paint brand to use. glad to see it looks great

Yea, Ive been thinking about doing something veru similar but my frame gets kinda hot. Wont the paint eventually bubble and crack after a couple of months of heating up and cooling down? I am in Jacksonville FL, my ride is an 08 xb12s

if that is a concern for you, i would suggest 1 of two things.

1. call duplicolor customer service and ask them

2. use a high temperature paint
+ this may not turn out as well aesthetically

and i did not remove the tire or the inner fender, i just covered them with newpaper and tape. i did have minimal overspray on the forks and engine head, which was removed with paint thinner and a scotchbrite pad

I would suggest to use a more flat or satin finnish. I cant see what you used im only suggesting this to those who are thinking about it. You can armourall it after its completely cured to keep it healthy.

i have armouralled my buell from day one, except the tires and it still looks new. I use it on all the plastic and the black frame as well as the seat. It brings every thing together and when im next to other peoples buells mine looks like its never seen sun light, heat, or cold. It keeps the colors rich, when i see a lot of other buells they look faded and dried out. Just my advide. It does cost money to use it all the time but it seals all the color and richness in. The seat and paint will absorb it and its not slick.
