Well, I sold the Buell.
There was a lot of things I loved about my XB but the powertrain wasn't one of them. It just never "did it" for me.
The chassis was absolutely amazing and riding it on the dragon was practically a religious experience but for the type of riding I do most often the Buell just didn't satisfy; too little power and too many "quirks" with that Harley engine. so I moved on. I sold the Buell for $600 more than I paid for it [cool] and found a smokin' deal on one of these:
NO, NOT THE S40 IN THE BACKGROUND.
So far I am SERIOUSLY diggin' the new ride. It has all of the torque of the Buell down low but a bit more "umph" on tap up high. No, it doesn't handle like the Buell (few bikes do) but here in Indiana corners are rare. The Busa is supremely smooth, comfortable and, quite honestly, handles MUCH better than I thought it would. It is a FANTASTICALLY well rounded bike and to top it all off, my wife GREATLY prefers riding on the back of the Bus. I think it'll make quite the sport-touring rig and hopefully my "little lady" will want to come along with me on my future trips.
Thanks to all here for making this such a great forum. The level of bickering and childish nonsense on here is INFINITELY lower than pretty much any other forum I've frequented. There is clearly a comradely among Buell owners that is second to none. I will miss the Buell but I feel I have a better bike for my needs now. Someday there may yet be Lightning in my garage though.[up]
