Im picking up a Buell Blast for my girl friend to learn on and as a back up bike.. I figure Ill make it into a café or a street fighter. Looks like I will be able to make it into something that will look OK next to my 12R.. any of you guys messed with one?

I haven't, but I wanted to pick one up for my wife to learn on. Then do what you are going to do with it.

They had one at the dealership last summer, but my wife said no (and they wanted too much for it). Most likely I could have gotten it for a better price, but since she didn't want to ride, didn't want to waste my time...

yeah Im getting this one for "free".. Im trading off my 95 Mustang Rat-rod that I never drive anymore for it.. the kid put new Diablos on it and hes done basic performance mods.. hes asking 2 grand or a trade for a car.. seems like a ok deal to me.. I would maybe get 2 grand for the car as it is anyway!

There's a lot you can do with it to suit your tastes. This is what I did.

I LOVED LEARNING ON MY BLAST!!!!

Even my instructors thought it was a perfect first bike. I had a few issues that are easy enough to fix, but If you know what they are or if you're not afraid to do some preventative stuff, no prob. I finally got the motor quite sound and was about to begin the cosmetics. PM me if you want some details.

I have an XB9R Now. I'd still have that bike too if some ass didn't cut me off...

Just ignore the food shots...if you can.

I had a Blast and I miss it. I only had some minor mods but it was fun. I had oversize tires, the front forks were shimmed and the oil was changed to 5wt. I had a Vance hines exhaust, rejeted the carb, and a k&n air filter. The wheels were powder coated black.
