Can someone explain to me the points system? Guys talk about getting pulled over and getting 2 points. What does that mean?

you get points for moving violations.Insurance companies charge more for points. If you obey ALl traffic laws you have nothing to worry about[up]

Cool, so its basically a way to keep your insurance down, as well as keep yourself from paying traffic violation fines.

I think the whole surcharge system is a crock of ******** if you ask me..........fundraising

I find it the worst in small towns. Not necessarily with bikes, but in cages. The sheriff in a small town will pull you over for ANYTHING as you pass through. Then he gives you a city citation (like he is doing you a favor) and you pay it straight to the town that is hungry for your money. Crap.

Waldo, Baldwin, and Starke FL are PRIME examples of that and they're notorious for it. How else are towns in the middle of BFE going to make money

Exactly, there are a few notorious towns like that in Minnesota as well. one of those towns where you actually go 30 mph down the main street.
