Polishing frame over the winter Any advice

I want to polish my frame swingarm and fairings stay over the winter was just wanting some input from the guys that have done this. Here's my idea on how to do it:

Remove plastics and mask off everything but the frame and swingarm. Spray frame and swingarm with gasket remover to get paint off. After that sand it with 200 grit then progress up to 2500 wet. Then polish everything with a buffing/polishing wheel with the bar polish I forgot the name of the brand.

If that sounds like the proper steps then cool if not please let me know. Any help is appreciated
