Polishing muffler/pipes

Well guys I've gone off and got bored again...... Lol.
I'm currently in the process of polishing my Drummer SS.
I will post pics as I go just to show the progress.

Pipe started here with chipped black ceramic paint.

This is after I rid it of the paint.

This is a shot after a lil elbow grease. I'm using 2000 grit, 3000 grit and never dull polish.

Before.....
Hand is There to show reflectivity.

This is after about 20 min sanding by hand.

Ok back to work....

Wenol and a small polish pad on a drill works great...or do it by hand. Mirror finish!

The finish will be coverd by black chrome paint. This is all just to get the surface ready.

Use the yellow cone attachment for a drill and a good metal polish. This will cut down on time and show very good results. Looking good[up]

Guys Im limited on things to use other than goos ol fashioned elbow grease. Im currently at work on a drilling rig thats roughly 75 miles from the closest town. The things im using I was able to pick up at a Napa parts store in a small town. Im not looking to make a show peice as she will prob get scrached and chipped again.

Well a lil update on the work......... the dupli-color Shadow paint was disapointing to say the least. The spray pattern was all over the place and would not allow for a good even coat. If it did it would have still looked like a really shiny Grey. In the end I had to aplly so many coats that it just looks Blackish.......no chrome look to it at all. ive still got the end caps to polish so there will at least 2 really shiny parts....lol

It's not 100% due to some nicks and light scratches, But they are shiny nicks and scratches now.

Heres a couple of pics of the case. It looks black in the pics, but in person and out in the sun it has a deep gunmetal look to it.

Just reassembled it....

Now I just have to wait for the rest of the project when I get home in 2 weeks.
