This is my first post ! Possible BUELL FIREBOLT XB9R 2003 purchase. Here is the ad copy: "mint, 10kmi, new brakes & rotors, race exhaust, runs & looks perfect." The owner wants $3900 dollars. The bike has 10,000 miles. Is this fair ? What should i look for problem wise ?. I've been riding and wrenching for 30 years but know nothing about these bikes. I saw a picture and it looks beautiful. Thanks, Lee.

I think $3900 is a bit much for a 2003...but that is just my opinion. I sold my 2003 for 3k before Buell shut down... granted mine had over 30K miles on it and a few blemishes...

problem wise... I had a stator that went out around 28K miles, had to have the headlights replaced (recall) but other than that, I didnt have any issues with mine.

Depending on the condition, I would say it is a very fair price. I sold an 03 XB9R with more miles for $5K last year.

If it's in as good of shape as he says, I'd say it's a good deal. Definitely not a bad deal. I bought my 2003 last June with 3400 miles for $3200, and it was spotless. I had to take a 10 hour round trip to get it though. Prices seem to be all over the place though. Definitely go for it if that's what you're looking for. I see 9rs listed for $3500 somewhat regularly, but you'd probably end up with one that has a little more wear and some scratches on it.

ehh idk seems kind of high i got a pretty good deal on mine personally i paid $2,700 for my 03 with 17k on the odo. it had a race pipe, new tires, new belt, good plastics, but it did have a dent in the frame....

I agree that the price is kinda high

I also find it hard to believe that he put on new brakes a rotors (plural)

maybe pads and rotor (singular)

also I picked up my bike the June before buell shut down for $4,200 and it had several thousand worth of mods on it(exhaust, carbon fiber, race ecm, mirrors, ect) with full maint records only 8k on the clock and nearly all stock parts included

since then the prices have only gone down on used buell motorcycles, I think you can get one cheaper.
